Tranquility Bay and other WWASPS programs have long been in the news with reports of child abuse, neglect, and some deaths.
There is controversy over what their high success rate really means. Some say those rates are calculated by the number of parents who attend their "brainwashing" seminars who succumb to the mental exhaustion and pressure to write something, anything, good about their experiences with the program. Some of these parents haven't even seen or spoken to their child for up to and over a year, according to reports from parents and former residents.
We have yet to find any supporting documentation that says this is healthy for the parents, children, or teens.
